LILAC Document Help
QCAD (Computer-aided Design)
LILAC QCAD is a set of CAD (Computer-aided design) tools which are applied to the Stock Account, Sales Quotation, Sales Order, Sales Invoice, Sales Delivery Docket, Purchase Order, and Purchase Invoice.
QCAD tools are used to create or manage images, text, and files within LILAC documents, which may then be emailed as a PDF, or printed.

Selecting the Object - Image, Text, or File
- Double left mouse click on the Image, Text, or File.
- Or, with a left mouse - Drag out a rectangle around the whole image (by holding the left mouse button). Now right mouse click on the image.
- By using either method, 8 small black squares (handles) will appear on the perimeter of the selection.
- The object is now selected and editable.
- Right mouse click anywhere on the document will stop / disengage the selection.
Now click on QCAD menu from the ribbon at the top of the LILAC Window – to see QCAD options.
- Or, with a left mouse - Drag out a rectangle around the whole image (by holding the left mouse button). Now right mouse click on the image.
- By using either method, 8 small black squares (handles) will appear on the perimeter of the selection.
- The object is now selected and editable.
- Right mouse click anywhere on the document will stop / disengage the selection.
Now click on QCAD menu from the ribbon at the top of the LILAC Window – to see QCAD options.
Editing with QCAD from the Ribbon - Image, Text, or File
With the object selected selected - displaying 8 small black squares (handles) - and QCAD selected from the ribbon.
Delete
- From the QCAD menu select: Edit > Delete
- Or, Delete from the keyboard
Move
- Left click within the Document / LILAC Window, to establish the desired position.
- The user will see positioning cross hairs.
- With the position determined - from the QCAD menu select: Edit > Move. This will move the selected object to the location of the crosshairs.
- Right mouse click anywhere on the document to stop / disengage.
Resize
- Use a left mouse click and hold to drag any of the 8 small black squares (handles), which will change the size of the image.
- With the image still engaged, from the QCAD menu select: Edit > Normalise, this will restore image quality.
- Right mouse click anywhere on the document to stop / disengage.
Align
- Drag out a rectangle (by holding the left mouse button) around the images to be aligned. Now right mouse click within that rectangle to select the group of images (8 small black squares (handles) will show what is selected).
- From the QCAD menu select: Edit > Align > Left.
Delete
- From the QCAD menu select: Edit > Delete
- Or, Delete from the keyboard

- From the QCAD menu select: Text > Text.
- Enter the required text.
- Right mouse click anywhere on the document to stop / disengage.
