This document is typically used to open: - LILAC Live Backup Window or - Live Backup - Client Burn (Details on Page 2)
LILAC Live Backup Window
This window should be left running and minimised on the Server. This will copy the database to the Backup folder on the Server at 1.00am. If 'Auto Copy to USB' is ticked a copy will also be made to a USB if inserted into the Server.
*'Sched. Backup' will generate an up to the minute database copy on the Backup folder on the Server. Subsequently 'Burn' or 'Burn / USB Copy' can copy the current database from the Backup folder on the Server.
Clicking 'Burn/USB Copy' from the ribbon will present a window titled LILAC Backup - Client Burn.
By inserting a USB or recordable CD-R / DVD-R disk into the users workstation (client computer), and checking the boxes of the files to copy, the user may then Burn to CD, or, Save to USB the files associated with the checked boxes. This process allows database copies to be made remotely, that is, without being in the presence of the server.
The above settings will copy the the database from the 1.00am Backup Folder on the Server. To get a up to the minute copy, a scheduled backup can be invoked first from LILAC Live Backup.
* Note: If on-going backups are scheduled, ie a time is entered in the 'Scheduled' field, be sure that the caret is moved out of the field to 'register' the time.
